Wel[... IGTV just got launched today and I'm super curious how that all goes over. Companies have been trying to release new platforms to topple the YouTube giant for years. But none have come remotely close. But this time there is the possibility... Instagram has been on a fast yet steady rise since it's launch 8 years ago. And it's been cleverly adapting and adding to it's platform. With new features regularly being added to it, it keeps up with the very competitive field it's in. The market for attention.
While Instagram stories have been very successful as well as the live stream feature, it still lacked a dedicated long video format for more... permanent quality content.
Well that's what they hoped to change by creating IGTV. It's still to early to say... but I have a good feeling about this new feature. People want to get as much as they can from one place, and now may be that opportunity. Instagram has already a massive userbase. All it need is content creators to step up and make great content.
The most interesting part is no traditional landscape mode. A strictly mobile portrait mode is what you're stuck with. Which will assure unique content.
I look forward to exploring this unique platform and hope they reward now and future content creators with a monetization feature in the near future.
